HI GUYS. RAMEN HERE.
Doing something that I should have done a long time ago, so please let me explain. This is Ward's "I'm a spy" permissions post. Ward's arrival in-game has been met with a lot of controversy and the plain fact of the matter is that he's a man without a mission or a cause. That means essentially that there might be people that he could "stalk".
However given the sheer number of characters here wherein potentially intriguing and interesting plots could arise from Ward's obsessive desire to keep tabs on potential threats. He's not Natasha Romanoff, he's not going to seduce you, but if you are open and interested to plotting with Ward or want to sow the seeds for a long term confrontation then this is where you come so I have a ready record of everything.
There's also an opt out post, for the reasons I discussed in the HMD which I totally get. No hard feelings bro and I hope if you want we can play together with other characters somewhere else.

CAN WARD - Are you comfortable with him...
SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Keeping track of records in a physical sense only. Ward has zero technical skill whatsoever. If he decides you're a threat he'd be following you and taking pictures and making observations. if you say yes What would the guy observe? What would he notice about your character? If you say no, that is totally okay he will bang his head against a wall and be frustrated by your character and leave you alone.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS If you answered yes to that first question, ARE YOU COMFORTABLE WITH WARD ONE DAY USING YOUR CHARACTERS SECRETS AGAINST YOU. If you have a secret mistress one day do you want this guy to show up out of the blue and go "hey you work for me now or I tell your wife you're sleeping with so-and-so?" That's where this goes.
CAN WARD TALK ABOUT HIS PAST WITH YOUR CHARACTER? Ward is a walking trigger warning, working for HYDRA, being an abuse victim - but he can put up a passable human front. If you don't want to get to know the guy in depth answer yes or no!

Ward's a pretty triggering character and I can understand if people don't want to play with him. My goal is to create a safe space for everybody where we can all have fun together. I'm perfectly happy to play a villain but I know that his issues can be issues for others. SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes, but this is counterbalanced some by Jesse's assumption that Ward is spying on him, so he is taking measures to conceal his activities. Some of the surface details: Jesse's expensive vintage Chevy Corvette Stingray is in fact legally acquired and registered to him, not stolen; his legal residence is modest housing at the Xavier School; his clothing is designer despite its casual style and probably costs more than a school nurse should afford; no unusual calls have been made from his land line or his communicator. Jesse uses a burner (disposable cell phone) for all his illegal activities. He does not drive his Stingray to his meth lab or to meetings with his crime associates; he uses public transportation and rents a car whenever he's going to the lab (which is not in Florida at all but out in the Pennsylvania wilderness where he'd see someone following or approaching). He frequently spends the night somewhere other than his home (at Skye's, at Joel and Ellie's, or at a hotel). He's no spy but he's professional enough that he can shake an obvious tail, and he's definitely on the lookout for that. Which is weird for a school nurse in itself. So it's reasonable to think, "Who is this guy really and what is he up to all those hours he manages to dodge me?" Also, it's totally common knowledge that Jesse is a recovering meth addict - but he has never mentioned being involved with the drug trade himself, in the past or present. (I've seen characters get confused about this before. I mean, it's a fine assumption to make because just look at him, but Jesse has never once referred to himself as a drug dealer.)
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS We'll handle this on a case-by-case basis. If something in the future causes Jesse to slip up in his careful habits or if there's an opportunity for Ward to catch him red-handed, we can go from there. I'd prefer Ward's discovery of Jesse's real business to unfold slowly, especially since it affects a lot of other characters. Plus, Ward outright threatening Jesse's business would probably end in Ward being disincorporated in a barrel of acid. It would just not be a smart move to show his hand like that.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes. There's not much going on with her, though. She goes to work, hangs out with Delsin, goes home. Maybe sometimes tags a random city wall with neon when bored, or super speeds around for fun. 95% of the time she's a pretty sane, functioning young adult, but in quiet moments she might be caught doodling the name "Brent" in neon or even on a scrap piece of paper. She doesn't need to think about it. Oh! She also sometimes talks aloud to herself when nervous, but sometimes she addresses Brent, too. Juuust a little unhinged.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS I think the only thing she might be uncomfortable about being threatened with is something in regards to her brother and his death, but I'm willing to plot with this should the need ever arise! However, Fetch has a temper. Disrespecting her brother is a quick way to have a lot of bad things happen.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes. She's pretty busy for a teenager, working at an ice cream shop for about 15 hours a week and going to the Xavier school for imPorts. Joel is absent for a few days each week, away for work, leaving Ellie to her own devices. This is when she spends a lot of time with Jesse. Otherwise, when Joel is home, they keep to themselves but can be seen outside quite a bit with their dog, Lucy. She's a cute puppy.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS Sure. As with Fetch, she doesn't have any obvious secrets of her own, but I'm always willing to plot stuff.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Sure! Stiles lives in a house with his friends from home, Derek Hale, Scott McCall, and Lydia Martin. They also share a car. He works as a civilian assistant at the Heropa police department, getting coffee and taking calls and organizing files. He also will be attending Xavier's imPort school rather than regular high school. He's registered and attends swear-ins, but conversation on the network shows he could be swayed to be anti-establishment. He saw Chilton briefly to get a prescription for ADHD medication, but he's very cagey in therapy. Despite being talkative and enjoying information, Stiles isn't very good at making friends (even 2/3 of his crew from home only seem to tolerate him) and he doesn't do much stuff with kids his age, preferring to read, practice lacrosse by himself, drive around, or go online. The exception is Abigail Hobbes, who he's totally puppy-eyed for. Finally, once a month he accompanies Derek way out of town for a full moon in the dunes. A lot of this is subject to change so just bug me if in October onwards you wanna check the info!
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS Sure, but Stiles' doesn't make a great candidate for that. His secrets are either childish and unimportant, deeply psychological, or someone else's — and if Ward wants to find out about werewolves then he's going to have to deal with threatening, well, the actual werewolves, and they're kind of hardcore.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? Sure! She seems like a normal teenager. She lives in government housing and will soon be working some shifts in Will's bait shop. Most of her time is spent alone because how do you friend. She doesn't sleep well and is often hanging out at Denny's at two am eating pie and watching drunk people be drunk. If she is hanging out with anyone it's Will, Hannibal or Freddie with a tiny side of Stiles and probably Jayden.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? I pretty much work on the assumption that Ward is already spying on Skye, lmfao. Skye keeps busy here. Like, REALLY busy. Ward might get exhausted just from tracking her. Here's a rough approximation of her movements:
Very early mornings: Goes on a run or to the gym to work out
Mornings: This can vary since her boss is flexible with work hours (as long as she gets the work done), but on a regular schedule she'll go to work at StarkTech company in De Chima and be there until the afternoon. On Saturday mornings, she trains with Reiner Braun, another imPort who's helping her with hand-to-hand combat skills.
Late afternoon/evenings: She changes it up a lot. Often she takes her puppy Trotsky for a walk. Trotsky is a poodle cross with something we're not quite sure what, but he's freaking adorable and very friendly. And very intelligent. At least once a week she'll make a detour after work to Will Graham's place (also in De Chima) instead of going straight home, where he's tutoring her in stuff to take her GED and also criminal profiling. Whee. Other afternoons/evenings she spends with Jesse, or hanging out with her friends, clubbing (it helps when one of your friends is a DJ and the other one owns a club), or at home studying and watching TV/surfing the net. Weekends are more of the same. ETA: oh she also sometimes goes to the gun range to practice.

WHO DO YOU PLAY Shiki Ryougi from Kara no Kyoukai, she's a girl with Mystic Eyes that can kill almost anything.
CAN WARD - Are you comfortable with him...
SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes! Shiki's routine in Heropa so far has gotten pretty standard. She sleeps in very late, wakes up in the late afternoon to do her gardening job at a local park. What Ward might catch her doing is when she's weeding she uses her knife to kill the roots. Hey, mundane use of her powers, but it works! Then she basically stays out really late walking around the city at night before going back to her apartment. She usually eats out and only seems to get bottled water and strawberry ice cream for her fridge.
I'm planning for more interesting things later such as her training to keep up her knife and sword skills, but yes that's the gist of it.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS Shiki's only real secret which would not be apparent at all (except for her speech pattern, using "ore" in Japanese as a aggressively masculine pronoun) is how she used to have a second personality, who died in her place. She doesn't talk about him and overall, she doesn't have anything that could be used against her (yet)!
CAN WARD TALK ABOUT HIS PAST WITH YOUR CHARACTER? Shiki is a tough nut to crack so she's often fine with hearing about things that are usually upsetting to others.

CAN WARD - Are you comfortable with him...
SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes. Lydia lives in a house with Stiles, Derek, and Scott. They share a car. She often hangs out with Loki and Skye (and possibly now Simmons), and the two are super friendly. Best friendly. She tutors calculus at the university, helps imPorts find work, and goes to the regular Heropa High School.
Lydia is a genius with an IQ of 170, and it's not hard to pick up on the fact, yet no one seems to really know what powers she was saddled with on arrival because she doesn't talk about it much. If you would like Ward to catch her wandering off while hearing voices/etc. and banshee things, discuss with me.
On the network, Lydia is flagrantly mistrustful of the government's motives, though she advocates for registration just to float under the radar. She's made some vague, obtuse references to negative experiences in her past, but it's impossible to decipher precisely what happened, and she's not seeking therapy for any of it.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes, but there isn't a lot going on with John at the moment. He lives in government housing, cycles to work at nearby clinic, and sometimes goes out for a walk or does a bit of random shopping. He often carries a gun on him and is a bit of an adrenaline junkie.

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Sure! Though there isn't much interesting about Clem so! She goes to one of the government elementary schools during the week, and works a couple of hours after school at an ice cream store, as well as for a few hours on Saturday. She..kinda keeps to herself and avoids making friendships. She also currently lives alone and tends to buy non perishable or canned goods, out of habit. Also she never leaves home without some kind of weapon - a hatchet or screwdriver in her backpocket, hidden from sight. Also most recently she ahaha reflexively - kinda stabbed someone in the shoulder with a screwdriver when he grabbed her arm to get her attention. (Like, In the post I just put up recently, this would be the'mess up at work'.) Oops!

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? Absolutely. if you say yes He would notice she's working for Tony Stark, first of all (which probably has certain connotations for a Hydra-boy). If she works for Stark, she must be smart. But is she building weapons? Nooo, she's actually designing automail - a type of prosthesis from her home world that interacts directly with the nervous system. But, since she's from the early 1900s, she's working on updating and advancing her work from back home. As these limbs were really developed for the military for soldiers to use, yes, they can definitely be considered as possible weapons (Winry, for example, designed an arm with a machine gun in it canonically, and one of her best friends has one leg with a blade in it that can cut through cement bars, and the other leg has a 25mm cannon in the knee, with only one shot, but still).

Believe me, Winry's probably heard tons of stories from her own customers about abuse, PTSD (which she also has, manifesting as nightmares), and has seen her own share of potentially nasty things happening (helping perform surgery at the age of ten on your best friend who's bleeding to death? Yeaaaaah...).

CAN WARD
SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? Yes. Joel has found out through Skye that Ward is a spy/special agent, and while he doesn't have any experience whatsoever with that kind of thing, he knows just based on that, based on the fact that he threatened Ellie, and based on the fact that he messed Jesse up pretty bad, that Ward is someone to be careful about. Joel is careful about everyone ANYWAY because he comes from a post-apocalyptic world where everyone is killing everyone else to stay alive, so he's already pretty messed up and pretty paranoid just on that basis alone. He knows how to shake a trail and knows how to hide. He's always got a pistol on him (tucked into the waistband of his jeans, hidden under his shirt).
Joel is away from Heropa about three days every week. He hires a rental car every week (always from a different car rental company) and drives the long trip up to Pennsylvania to pick up meth at dead drops and pick up cash for his payment at dead drops. He's careful about how he does everything - never stays in the same motel (or at least changes it up every week so there's no pattern), always drives different routes, only ever pays for things in cash and uses a false name when and where he can so there's no trail. He never uses his communicator when he's out on these trips, only uses the burner phones he purchases. He never, ever talks about being a drug mule to anyone. The only three people who know are Jesse, Kara and Ellie, and he's very careful about locations and keeping things on the quiet if he talks to any of them about anything he's involved in with drug peddling.
When he's home in Heropa, he's mostly with Ellie and keeps very much to himself. He drives an old red Chevy that he bought second-hand.
If Ward is going to stalk or follow Joel, I want a heads up about it and want to discuss what it is Ward would notice about Joel, as I want to avoid any infomodding about Joel's routine or things we haven't worked out.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS Case-by-case basis here. If it's things that we have agreed upon, then I'm okay with this. I want to avoid Joel being caught out being a drug mule, though. I want Joel's involvement in the drug thing to be a long and slow burn, and Joel getting found out would affect a lot of other characters.
CAN WARD TALK ABOUT HIS PAST WITH YOUR CHARACTER? I'm okay with this. My only request is that if it involves anything to do with rape, sexual abuse or sexual assault, can you please put a trigger warning in the subject header of the comment the subject is talked about, as that is something that can trigger me pretty badly if I don't know to expect it. :(

Absolutely! I'd be highly disappointed if he wasn't already considering their talk. H'ssssk practically considers him a minion already and Ward would find spying super easy since he could literally follow H'ssssk around with him knowing and he wouldn't care or think anything of it. Not to mention he has a big mouth and would probably answer anything Ward wanted to know. Things he'd notice are H'ssssk has a major hatred of all mammals, spends a lot of time coming up with crazy plans and is good with tech. Once he gets his claws on some parts and such he'll start working on building things that don't look like things that can actually work. He also likes to stay up to date on pop culture, gaming, movies, tv, comics. He likes to know these things so he can insult them later. Also he wears suits and stuff when he goes out and proclaims things like "BEHOLD AN ORDINARY CIVILIAN" it's to blend in. Works perfectly. If he wants to find out anything else let me know and I'll ramble, but since he's new these are the basics of what he'll be doing.

Heck yes! ...Although it's unlikely to actually work on H'ssssk since he has a big mouth and is kind of a smart idiot. He likely won't care if Ward tells anyone his secrets. What's more likely to work on him is simple trickery. An example: he was tricked into thinking an important piece of his time bomb was stolen, simply by the hero making a fist and pretending he stole a piece of it. But if Ward wants to ever threaten with giving away his secrets or just right out letting everyone know his secrets he can!

Absolutely! Ward can tell H'ssssk anything. He'll probably listen.

While his powers stopped working years ago, he still retains everything he'd collected before, including basically all of the X-Men. Nowadays, he works with the Young Avengers.
CAN WARD -
SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes! But he wouldn't see much exciting, he's at home a lot when he isn't at work, spends copious amount of time at the computer or with his friends and teammates. Aside from the Young Avengers, he may be seen with Laurie Collins, has spent time at Revan's workshop more recently, and occasionally, most notably, knows Skye.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS There aren't really too many secrets he has, aside from Loki blackmailing him into a date so he wouldn't tell their mutual friend that David made a pass at his boyfriend after his canon point. But if any secrets come up, go for it!

SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - To a degree, yes! If Jaime ever catches Ward's notice, he'll notice fairly normal things at first - he goes to school and to his part time job, and tends to pop between Porter cities for the sole purpose of hanging out with friends. Ward's Jaime's neighbour, so it won't be difficult to notice that he tends to have friends over fairly frequently, but the noise indicates they're just watching movies or playing video games - typical teenage boy crap, but he does seem to talk to himself an awful lot... Jaime also keeps odd hours, quietly going out late, and coming home even later, but he's very careful to scan the area before suiting up. If you ever want him to figure out Jaime's the Blue Beetle, I'm open for discussion! Related, Jaime's also keeping tabs on whenever Ward pops up on the network because he's buddies with Skye like the rest of the game. :')

He's a draconian who is former military and now a political leader at home; here, he's a civil engineer.
CAN WARD - Are you comfortable with him...
SPY ON YOUR CHARACTER? - Yes! There is a chance that Kang may notice this one human seeming to be in the same area as him frequently, though, and he doesn't like being spied on. The first thing Ward would notice is that while Kang spends a lot of time in a human form, his natural form is very dragonlike and intimidating, and he doesn't bother hiding the fact that he's not human. His normal activities are pretty boring, though, and include work (he'll be in the Heropa park a lot with a new project) and being social with coworkers and friends.
THREATENING YOUR CHARACTER WITH SECRETS There's a chance Ward might overhear some stuff about Kang's not nice past in the military, but good luck trying to blackmail him! He doesn't care.
